ANCHOR POINT
by Dr Simone Saidel
Each of us carries a unique story shaped by our experiences and relationships. When we have been through something painful or overwhelming, their impact can linger in ways that affect how we feel, think, and move through the world.
Therapy can offer a space where your story is heard with care and respect. Together we can explore the patterns shaped by your experiences, noticing what may be keeping you feeling stuck and helping you make sense of what has happened. You can be understood, heal and move forward and be empowered to live the life you want.
About me
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and member of the British Psychological Society. I offer person-centred, evidence-based therapy in North West London and online, and work both privately and within the NHS.
I have over five years of experience working therapeutically with people across the lifespan, supporting individuals experiencing a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I understand that everyone’s experiences and story are unique, and aim to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, supportive, and respectful. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration.
I use a range of evidence-based models to tailor sessions to each person’s needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology (BSc) at the University of Nottingham and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Studies (MSc) at King’s College London, before completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at University College London in 2025.
I also have a keen interest in research and have been involved in several publications. These include:
Automated virtual reality cognitive therapy versus virtual reality mental relaxation therapy for the treatment of persistent persecutory delusions in patients with psychosis (THRIVE): a parallel-group, single-blind, randomised controlled trial in England with mediation analyses - Freeman et al., 2023, Lancet Psychiatry
The Oxford Positive Self Scale: psychometric development of an assessment of cognitions associated with psychological well-being - Freeman et al., 2023, Psychological Medicine
